βHere are a few slow cooker ideas that are tried and true, along with a basic description of ingredients. These recipes are quite forgiving and you can vary them in many ways. If you are someone who prefers to follow a precise recipe or know the detailed nutrition info, all you need to do is search for keto/low carb plus (insert favorite food here) to find a multitude.
But you donβt need to be that precise when using a slow cooker.
(Theyβre very forgiving!) Just throw in the ingredients of your choice and plug in the machine. As a general rule, high settings will require 4 hours of cooking, and low settings will require 8 hours of cooking.
Mississippi Mud Roast
Beef chuck roast
Butter
Packet of ranch seasoning
Jar of pepperoncini peppers with the juice
Ribs
Rack or two of baby back ribs (cut racks in half to fit)
Seasoning of your choice
Jar of sugar free BBQ sauce
Low Carb Chili
2 lbs. of raw ground beef
Chili seasoning
Small can of tomato paste
2 cans of chopped tomato
1 onion
1 pepper
Carton of beef broth
Low Carb Vegetable Soup
2 lbs. of raw ground beef or stew meat
Chili seasoning
1 can of chopped tomato
Small can of tomato paste
1T Worcestershire sauce
Onion
Celery
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Green beans
Carton of beef broth
Hot Tip: For even more flavor, instead of beef broth, use the juice left over from making the slow cooker ribs as a base for this soup.
Whole Chicken
1 or 2 whole chickens
Butter
Seasoning
Garlic
Onion
Celery
Lemon
Hot Tip: Eat this chicken as is, or use it in other recipes. (Chicken salad, fajitas, buffalo chicken dip, chicken chili.) Cooking the protein is often the most time-consuming aspect of a recipe.β
